The Mews
Beaufield House & Mews has been in the possession of the current owner's family since 1930. It opened originally as an Antique shop in one room , opening only at night serving tea & homemade biscuits & scones made by the present owner Jill who made them as a child for pocket money. Gradually the holes in the roof were fixed & another room opened as a Restaurant in 1950 & ran by Mrs Kirwan. Back in the 1950s, there were really only restaurants in Dublin city centre; it was a new idea to have a Restaurant in the suburbs.
Now, after 57 years, the Beaufield Mews Restaurant still holds those traditions dear. The Coachhouse building has been lovingly restored and now houses two fantastic restaurants.
On the ground floor the Pewter topped bar with cherry wood floor leads out on to the old rose gardens, whilst upstairs, underneath the beams, the 19th century crystal chandeliers matches perfectly with the marble bar, creating an old worlde atmosphere in state of the art facilities.
